Questionari di frequenza alimentare: considerazioni per lo sport

Abstract

Il Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) è ampiamente utilizzato in epidemiologia nutrizionale per studiare le diete passate. Consente di analizzare le relazioni causali tra cibo e malattie o disturbi nutrizionali. viene utilizzato per caratterizzare l'alimentazione abituale di gruppi di popolazione o individui, fornendo informazioni qualitative e quantitative, con il vantaggio di essere a basso costo. In questa recensione, intendiamo esplorare le possibilità di applicare il FFQ nella nutrizione sportiva. Abbiamo osservato nella letteratura scientifica attuale che gli FFQ sono stati applicati in diverse occasioni che coinvolgono atleti quali: Regolazione dell'assunzione con la dieta in funzione del volume di allenamento; Valutazione dell'influenza della dieta sui biomarcatori sanitari; Valutazione dell'assunzione di nutrienti specifici. Le informazioni ottenute con gli attuali FFQ applicati agli atleti erano relativamente valide, ma pochissimi FFQ sono stati sviluppati considerando le particolarità di questo sottogruppo di popolazione. Concludiamo che il FFQ può essere applicato in diversi modi nello sport e può essere utile come indagine sui diversi approcci nutrizionali tra gli atleti. Tuttavia, per una maggiore affidabilità delle risposte, è necessario utilizzare FFQ opportunamente validati per la popolazione di atleti.
