Body weight changing for evaluation of dehydration level on futsal athletes with age between 18 and 32 of a professional team from Santa Catarina
Abstract
Futsal is a sport with the characteristics of being a sport that needs constant and intense moving of all athletes, what brings a high energetic use. It can affect physiologic functions and corporal temperature, bringing entanglements and decreasing the performan-ce during the match. The present research having as objective demonstrate changing in corporal weight in male futsal athletes with ages between 18 and 32, before and after an official match in the State of Santa Catarina. Had taken part of this essay 13 players which were divided in two groups: GI = 7 players, that have consumed from 250 to 750ml of water and GII = 6 players, that have consumed more than 750ml of water, the data analysis was done by means of descriptive statistics, were a percentage of grease, height BMI, corporal weight before and after match was used. After a crossing betweeninformation from both groups, we could see that GI had a greater change in corporal weight and consequently a dehydration level more representative statistically than GII, that had a higher water consumption, being that the difference in corporal weight in this group was only of 1.54%. Thus, according to ambient conditions when the match was taken, the consumption of more than 750ml of water helps on preventing dehydration in futsal athletes. We can consider the right hydration a determinant factor on athlete’sperformance, but is necessary to emphasize to athletes the importance of liquid ingestion before, during and after physical exercises.
